Court suspends Kabaddi Federation’s dubious bidding process


The court suspended the operation of the tender (EOI) dated 18.11.2021 and the procurement process of the Pakistan Kabaddi Federation regarding “the hiring of a local and international agency for the development of Kabaddi in Pakistan ”.

Strawberry Sports Management, owner of the Asian-style and circle-style Kabaddi leagues in Pakistan, approached the court and argued that the Pakistani Kabaddi Federation has entered into technical collaboration with it and is committed to meeting certain obligations, in particular the provision of national and international players. , among other aspects of a technical nature. The disputed tender and procurement process is primarily aimed at violating Strawberry Sports Management’s agreements with the Pakistan Kabaddi Federation and also infringes on the intellectual property rights of Strawberry Sports Management. While admitting the arguments of Strawberry Sports Management, the court issued its order of 04-12-2021 issued a restraining order against Pakistan Kabaddi Federation and suspended the operation of the tender (EOI) of 18.11.2021 and Pakistan’s resulting procurement process. Strawberry Sports Management owns the Asian style and Kabaddi circle style leagues and successfully organized the inaugural Asian style Kabaddi season named Super Kabaddi League in which the Pakistan Kabaddi Federation was the technical collaborator.
